Cable sheath inspection

The cable protective layer is a protective covering layer applied outside the cable insulation layer in order to adapt the cable to the requirements of various use environments, called the cable protective layer (sheath). The main role of the cable protective layer is to protect the cable insulation layer in the laying and operation process, from mechanical damage and damage by various environmental factors, such as water, daylight, biology, fire, etc., to maintain the long-term stable electrical performance of the cable, so the quality of the cable protective layer is directly related to the service life of the cable. Cable protective layer can be divided into three categories: metal protective layer (including outer protective layer), rubber protective layer and combined protective layer, of which rubber protective layer and combined protective layer can play a waterproof, flame retardant and anti-corrosion role.
